“My name is Jacob and I have a very rare condition called Pachygyria.  This means that parts of my brain did not develop correctly with thickened parts to the cerebral cortex of my brain.    There is no medical treatment for this, only supportive treatments such a physiotherapy.    I have physiotherapy at school and at home.  Lisa comes to see me at home for my physiotherapy there.  We have lots of fun.  I especially love bouncing on different shaped gym balls and learning to keep my balance on these.  I can bounce myself up and down now.     I can bottom shuffle around by myself and have recently started to learn to use a specialist walking frame, which I am beginning to be able to step forwards in.   I do my best work if I watch Peppa Pig at the same time.”
